Description:
Webmin is a web-based interface for system administration. Using any modern web browser, you can setup user accounts, Apache, DNS, file sharing and much more. Hi, the package will be updated soon to install always the lastest version of webmin and also install all needed ipkg modules (incl. linking of /usr/bin/perl to /opt/bin/perl etc.) if you have a working ipkg installation. Stay tuned. You will find latest SPK for manual installation always here: https://github.com/gnadelwartz/synomin

I have webmin running nicely on DSM 5.2 You gotta install Perl from the package manager, then create a symbolic link while logged in as root in the terminal "ln -s /opt/bin/perl /usr/bin/perl". I had to reboot after that. Then login via web browser with port:10000 after the IP address of the server. I was able to update webmin once I logged in, now I'm running webmin ver 1.790 and it's working great

UUUhhh this app really needs an update. Does not work under my DSM 5.0 as any attempt to login fails. If there is nobody to make the update to make it work under 5.0 or later you should remove it.

I note this is very old - and it does not work on my Synology diskstation. It installs - but that's it - no access on port 10000 (nothing there apparently)...
Any idea if there is an up to date version anywhere?

This thread seems to be quite old - but the perl finding problem does exist in the actual version. I had a simple solution. Install perl over ipkg (ipkg install perl) and just create a symbolic link "ln -s /opt/bin/perl /usr/bin/perl". After that webmin works (and I guess the other packages too).

@Raymond refer to the notes in the changelog and update your webmin itself

@solowkey it seems so
i will release a new version in the next days, this should fix the problem by detecting a installed ipkg perl automaticly.
